Orbit Skate Center Joins WINGS For A Month Of Giving during November 2014.
Roller Skating Community Sees Another Opportunity to Help Others
Orbit Skate Center, a family oriented roller skating facility in Palatine Illinois for over 40 years, happily announces their extension for the WINGS donation program. After an extremely successful month due to the generosity of Orbit’s community of skaters, they see no reason to end the promotion and instead are expanding for November with a Month of Thanks. Bring a canned good to ANY open session and save $1.00 on admission. All donated food items are picked up weekly and used to stock the Wings food pantry for their clients.
About WINGS: The mission of WINGS is to provide a continuum of integrated services in an effort to end domestic violence and homelessness one family at a time. Within the passed year ending June 30th, 2014, 203 women and 339 children from all over the United States received 63,415 nights of shelter through WINGS. Their volunteers and trained staff have responded to 3,778 calls on its 24-hour crisis hotline and has gratefully accepted the 2013 Impact Award from Hands On Chicago for “Volunteer Program of the Year”.
Of the recent success, Orbit Skate Center management states “When we found out about the empty WINGS pantry on Facebook we thought; it’s unacceptable for these abused women and children to be treated this way let alone have with no food or shelter. Continuing the many years of donating to a myriad number of foundations, we knew we had the potential to do something about it and so we are.”
To keep the donations rolling in, Orbit Skate Center is offering their skaters $1.00 off a full price admission for any consumable or canned good they bring in! In November, the food drive is good on any open public skating session! Won’t you help?
