The Elm Roller RinkThe Elm Roller Rink

Elm Roller Rink RibbonThe Elm Roller Rink, Roosevelt and Butterfield Roads just east of Route 83, Elmhurst Illinois 60126 is how the address reads on the program, telephone number Terrace 4-4100.

The Elm was designed and built by skaters for skaters and is supervised by people who have devoted their lives to skating. Of all the rinks in Illinois, The ELM was chosen as the site of the 1960 Illinois State Championships. It is our fervent and constant ambition to be the finest rink in the world. Your hosts, Bill and Linda Fuchs.

My husband remembers skating at The Elm and "all the dolls that hung from the ceiling". If you are at The Orbit and see the aisle tiles and party room tiles that aren't blue but yellow - those are from The Elm. I actually tried to get the organ installed in The Orbit, but a suitable arrangement could not be worked out. - Sandra Levin

The Elm was said to have the most successful skating school of all time. That is a quote from Roger Wampach who is currently teaching at both The Orbit Skate Center and Aurora Skate Center. Bob Gormley was and is honored as one of the great all time teachers and can be seen teaching with Roger on Monday nights at Aurora. - Sandra Levin

Here is the page on lessons from The Elm booklet that was given out at the rink to customers.
