Skates or
Inlines?

People always ask, should I begin on inline or regular roller skates? We suggest beginning on regular skates and then progressing to inlines if you really wish to. Regular or 'quad' skates as they are known now have a wider balance point and are easier to learn. If you have been an ice skater all your life, you might find inline skates easier to begin with.

Did you know..

Roller skating competition is similar to ice skating competition and participates in the Pan American Games and the World Games. Speed, Hockey and Artistic Skating is done all over the world and our governing body is constantly striving to make it part of the summer Olympics.

Team Rainbo has been Orbit Skate Center's Speed Team for over a decade and have national champions and world champions as members and teachers. Anyone that wishes to learn this sport is welcome to attend the practices and team members are happy to help others learn the sport they love!

Practice Schedule

Sundays	8:30-10:30am	coached, off-skate, on skate drill conditioning, long & short track combinations.
Tuesdays	9:00-10:30pm	open speed session
Thursdays	9:00-10:30pm	open speed session

Cost
$65 per month per individual for unlimited practice, or $8 per practice. Checks payable to Orbit Skate Center. Questions can be emailed to caleskater2@aol.com or Tomsidor@comcast.net .

Coaching
If you wish private lessons, it is available at an additional cost, speak to the one in charge on that session.

We have children as well as adults and teens on the team. Some folks just come to practice and learn, others take it more seriously. It's up to you how far you wish to go.

Equipment
You can begin on regular inline skates and a member of the team can show you more advanced equipment when you are ready.
