Roller Figure Skating is a sport which blends strength, precision and elegant artistry into a performance that is judged on both technical and artistic merits. Athletes compete in a variety of disciplines including: freestyle, figures, singles, dance and precision skating. Governed by USA Roller Sports, and supported by the United States Olympic Committee, efforts continue to get this sport into the Summer Olympics.
Much like competitive ice skating, roller skating competitions include the Pan Am Games and the World Games each year held in different places around the world. Artistic roller skating is very popular in Europe and Australia.
College scholarships are offered to competitive roller skaters that have achieved a certain level as well as the children of roller rink owners and their employees children by the Roller Skating Foundation.
