The Elm Roller Rink in Elmhurst Illinois was beloved by skaters

The Elm Roller Rink, Roosevelt and Butterfield Roads just east of Route 83, Elmhurst Illinois 60126 is how the address reads on the program, telephone number Terrace 4-4100.

The Elm was designed and built by skaters for skaters and is supervised by people who have devoted their lives to skating. Of all the rinks in Illinois, The ELM was chosen as the site of the 1960 Illinois State Championships. It is our fervent and constant ambition to be the finest rink in the world.

My husband remembers skating at The  Elm and "all the dolls that hung from the ceiling". If you are at The Orbit and see the aisle tiles and party room tiles that aren't blue but yellow - those are from The Elm. I actually tried to get the organ installed in The Orbit, but a suitable arrangement could not be worked out. - Sandra LevinSoon we will have the music on CD from the last night at The Elm.
